Recently I put up a poll regarding what is to be done regarding the sliding membership within our fleets. There were 4 options - maintain the status quo, merge with a smaller fleet, merge with a larger fleet, or disband.
We chose, by a vote of 2 to 1, to maintain the status quo, and to try to recruit new members. I respect that decision, but I'm afraid I must report that recruitment continues to be a problem, and we are losing more members. Currently, we have perhaps 3 active members that are reliably online every day, and another perhaps 5 that are online occasionally. That may be an overestimate.
I've been working to recruit new members, but I haven't found any success. Our fleet is not advanced enough to attract new members interested in elite gear, and it is too small to attract new members interested in joining for social reasons or to work on tiering up.
Essentially, I'm out of ideas. I have, therefore, begun discussions with the leadership of The Phoenix Rising to pass the leadership torch of Triforce of Courage on to them. Their fleet is less advanced than ours, but more active. Their membership would be gaining access to a more advanced fleet, and we would be gaining... well, their membership.
If they agree, and if you all will accept it, I'd like for Manchu Keng to retire as fleet leader of the Triforce of Courage. (Ganondorf will remain as fleet leader of the Triforce of Power, and any KDF alts within their fleet will be welcome to join ToP). Manchu will still be active, but as a Vice Admiral. Our ranks, permissions, forum, chat channel, and bank will remain as they were.
This is not an easy decision for me personally. I've been honored to have been your fleet leader for all this time. It's not easy to give up, but if the new leadership can attract new members, and restore the fleet back to a point where we're running STFEs together again, it'll be worth it. Again, Ganon will be remaining as fleet leader in ToP - absolutely nothing will be changing on that end, except that we might get a few more members out of the deal.
What do you guys think?
