After today's somewhat impromptu Fleet RP meeting, it's come to my attention that some rules should be laid out as general guidelines for people to follow while RP'ing, in order to make it a fair and even for everyone involved.
RP RULES
1) When Roleplaying, never under any circumstances do anything with a character played by someone else unless they are either asked permission or contacted directly in the event that they are not at their computer/online.
2) When away for any amount of time, upon returning to the RP, please ask one of the members who is online what the current status of the RP is so as not to be left behind or feel left out.
3) Godmodding will not be tolerated. (Godmodding, by definition in this case, will be defined as any character taking actions portrayed by themselves or other players and turning them into their own favor so as to make themselves invincible/untouchable. Such actions can also be applied to solo scenarios which under any circumstance would be impossible - Example: A lone fighter from the KDF assaulting the shipyards at Utopia Planitia and surviving.) Anyone caught Godmodding will be called out, and if such actions continue, may be subject to expulsion from the RP group.
4) Infomodding is also not allowed. Infomodding is simply defined as when a character knows about something that he/she should not due to circumstances. Example - Player A and B are talking about raiding an outpost while on Drozana. Player C knows about this even though he's halfway across the quadrant fighting the Borg. It would be impossible for player C to know this because he is not part of the conversation between A and B.
5) Insults and aggression are not allowed EXCEPT when it pertains to a roleplay scenario. If an argument between players develops that is not part of the RP, please either resolve it in another chat or bring it to the attention of the Fleet RP lead.
6) When planning to make a major change to the existing storyline, please confer with the other players first to see if this is okay with everyone.
7) Please try to keep existing storylines as open as possible to allow for entry by other players to join in or leave as they see fit.
8) For purposes of the Star Trek Online RP, please keep the RP within canon boundaries. No Star Wars, Dune, Dr. Who, Stargate, or any non-affiliated RP please.
9) Have fun!
Any more rules will be added as the need arises.
