So hey, I know I haven't been online quite as often the last couple of days, and I know we've got quite a few things to talk about, so I'm going to take this brief period of free time that I've got to bring up everything I can think of, so bear with me...
FIRST: What's next for the Mine? It looks to me like we've got 3 options...
SECOND: What's next for the Starbase? Here we've got several options...
THIRD: An announcement... I've decided to promote Yoriko (Kate) as our new second Admiral. The Triforce fleets have historically had three Admirals - originally, they were myself, Ken, and Erin. Ken and Erin would have the ability to slot projects, and I would consult with them whenever I was getting ready to make a decision or to bring something up to the Vice Admiralcy. Occasionally, Ken and Erin would act to keep me from making rash or foolish decisions, and I was grateful for their help. In order for the Admiralcy to be effective, however, I think we need to have 3 members, so Daniel and Kate can plausibly "out-vote" me. I'm a big fan of checks-and-balances, and this'll be good for us all. Additionally, with Yoriko being positioned geographically in Europe, she'll be able to provide us with an Admiral-level presence in-game much closer to around the clock. So, congratulations, Yoriko!
FOURTH: There's been some confusion as to the definitions of the various fleet roles, so I'll clear that up now, with some definitions.
Arbiter - "The Decider" - this is someone who has final say on where to go in the Battlezones, so there isn't any unnecessary confusion or arguing. This role started as kind of a joke, and was bestowed upon Erin, who would frequently Arbitrate on Defera. This person's "power" would encompass all of the battlezones - Defera, Dyson, Undine, Nukara, and New Romulus. Importantly, this is NOT an "Arbitrator"... in order words, not a judge who decides who is right and who is wrong in the chat channel. This role is currently open.
Tactical Officer - "The Strategist" - this is the coach of the team in the locker room with a chalkboard before the game. The planner. The Tactical Officer may organize and direct missions including, but not limited to, No Win Scenario, Hive Space, Infected Ground, Undine Assault, and so on. The Tactical Officer is not meant to be "in charge" of all combat events, such as more run-of-the-mill Infected Space being performed with a veteran team, but is more of a trainer, and a leader in the most challenging events. The Tactical Officer will be given Admin status in the Hyrule Warriors chat in order to organize their missions. Yoriko is currently our Tactical Officer.
Security Officer - "The Moderator" - here we have the chat channel moderator. This person is meant to be our designated police officer who will step in if the conversation in the chat channel degrades to a point of being abusive or unnecessarily derogatory. Debate is certainly allowed - I'd even go so far as to encourage it! We just don't need to be insulting one another. The Security Officer should be a good judge as to where the line is, and notify people when they are crossing it. If a problem persists, the Security Officer reports it to me. They WILL NOT be having the authority to unilaterally kick someone. This role is also currently open.
I hope that cleared that up.
FIFTH, and LAST thing... what should our next event be? I'm leaning toward another Dilithium Surge for this weekend, but if anyone has any other ideas, let me know!
Oh, and let me know in the comments which choices you'd like for the Dil Mine and the Starbase!
FIRST: What's next for the Mine? It looks to me like we've got 3 options...
- Upgrade the Trade Facility, which will allow us to start tiering up the Trade side, and will give us access to advanced Engineering consoles, upgraded freighter summoning, and a discount on donations to fleet projects.
- Dilithium Refiner - boosts daily dilithium refinement up to 8500 per alt
- Dilithium Store Discount - gives a 5% discount toward everything in the dilithium store
SECOND: What's next for the Starbase? Here we've got several options...
- Upgrade the Industrial Fabricator, which gives among other things, Elite ground weapons and armor
- The Tailor - provides access to the Fleet Odyssey outfits
- The Ship Customization Officer
- Personnel Officer - gives recruitment assignments
- Security Officer - gives security duty officer assignments
- Tactical Officer - gives tactical duty officer assignments
- Engineering Officer - gives engineering duty officer assignments
- Science Officer - gives science officer assignments
